Saunières is located about 25 kilometers northeast of Chalon-sur-Saône between Saône and Doubs . Saunières is surrounded by the neighboring communities Charnay-lès-Chalon in the north, Pontoux in the east and northeast, Sermesse in the east and southeast, Ciel in the south, Les Bordes in the southwest and Bragny-sur-Saône in the west.
