The Canton Gergy is a French constituency in the district of Chalon-sur-Saone in Saône-et-Loire and the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté ; its main town is Gergy . Jean-Paul Diconne ( PS ) has been a representative in the General Council of the Département since 2008 .

On January 1, 2015, the two municipalities of Clux and La Villeneuve merged and now form the municipality of Clux-Villeneuve .
Education and first choice
In 2015 (March 22 and 29), the departmental councils were elected for the first time using a new election procedure. In advance, the number of cantons was halved, but the candidacies were always made in pairs with a woman and a man. At the same time, the cantons were determined according to demographic criteria, in that the difference in the population figures of the cantons within the department must not be more than 20%. The canton area must be contiguous and municipalities with up to 3,500 inhabitants may not be divided between several cantons.
On the occasion of the March 2015 elections, the following were elected:
