The Canton Buxy was 2015 a French constituency in the district of Chalon-sur-Saone , in Saône-et-Loire and in the region of Burgundy . Its main town was Buxy . The representative in the General Council of the Département was Dominique Lanoiselet ( UMP ) from 2008 to 2015 . The canton of Buxy was 246.13 km² and had (1999) 7,874 inhabitants, which corresponded to a population density of 32 inhabitants per km². It was on average 314 meters above sea level, between 181 meters in Messey-sur-Grosne and 496 meters in Sainte-Hélène .
