The canton of Tramayes was a French canton in the arrondissement of Mâcon , in the department of Saône-et-Loire and in the region of Bourgogne until 2015 . Its main town was Tramayes . Maurice Bénas ( UMP ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département from 1994 to 2015, last re-elected in 2008 .
The canton was 104.34 km² and had 3,519 inhabitants (1999), which corresponded to a population density of 34 inhabitants per km². It was on average 344 meters above sea level , between 245 meters in Pierreclos and 755 meters in Tramayes.
