The Canton Matour was 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement of Mâcon , in Saône-et-Loire and the region Bourgogne . Its main town was Matour . Armand Charnay ( PS ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département from 1998 to 2015 . The canton was 130.38 km² and had 3221 inhabitants (1999), which corresponded to a population density of 25 inhabitants per km². It was on average 426 meters above sea ​​level , between 272 meters in Brandon and 765 meters in Montmelard.
