The canton of Montcenis was a French constituency in the Arrondissement Autun in the Saône-et-Loire department and in the Burgundy region until 2015 ; its main town was Montcenis . Thomas Thévenoud ( PS ) was last representative in the General Council of the Department from 2008 to 2015 . The canton was 247.77 km² and had 16,807 inhabitants (1999), which corresponded to a population density of 68 inhabitants per km². It was on average at 328 meters above sea ​​level , between 277 m in Blanzy and 643 m in Charmoy .
