The canton of Mesvres was a French constituency in the Arrondissement Autun in the Saône-et-Loire department and in the Burgundy region until 2015 . Its main town was Mesvres . Christian Gillot ( PS ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Department from 1978 to 2015, last re-elected in 2011 . The canton was 266.14 km² and had (1999) 3,854 inhabitants, which corresponded to a population density of 14 inhabitants per km². It was on average at 346 meters above sea ​​level , between 256 m in La Boulaye and 681 m in Uchon .
