The Canton Palinges was 2015 a French constituency in the district Charolles , in Saône-et-Loire and in the region of Burgundy . Its main town was Palinges . From 2000 to 2015, Paul Pluchaud ( UMP ) was the representative in the General Council of the Département . The canton was 179.20 km² and had 3815 inhabitants (1999), which corresponded to a population density of 21 inhabitants per km². It was on average 292 meters above sea ​​level , between 241 meters in Saint-Vincent-Bragny and 452 meters in Martigny-le-Comte.
