Damerey is a French municipality with 558 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Saone-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the arrondissement Chalon-sur-Saône and the canton Gergy (until 2015: canton Saint-Martin-en-Bresse ).
geography
Damerey is located about eleven kilometers northeast of Chalon-sur-Saône in the natural landscape of Bresse and on the Saône , which borders the municipality in the northwest. Damerey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Verjux in the north, Saint-Maurice-en-Rivière in the north and east, Saint-Martin-en-Bresse in the south-east, Montcoy in the south, Bey in the west and south-west and Gergy in the north-west.
