Épervans is a French commune with 1,613 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Saone-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the arrondissement Chalon-sur-Saône and is part of the canton of Saint-Rémy (until 2015: canton of Chalon-sur-Saône-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Épervanais or Épervandiaux .

geography

Épervans is located about four kilometers southeast of Chalon-sur-Saône on the Saône , which forms the western municipal boundary. Épervans is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Marcel in the north, Lans in the east and northeast, Ouroux-sur-Saône in the east and southeast, Varennes-le-Grand in the south, Saint-Loup-de-Varennes in the southwest and Lux in the west.
