Thomas Ungar
Thomas Ungar (born May 16, 1931 in Budapest ) is an Austrian conductor, music teacher and university teacher.
life and work
In 1959 Thomas Ungar became conductor of the Philharmonie Südwestfalen , formerly the "Siegerlandorchester" in Hilchenbach / Westf. In 1961 he waf municipal director of music at the Bergisch Symphony Orchestra in Remscheid, 1966 General Music Director at the Theater Regensburg and in 1969 the Philharmonic Orchestra in Freiburg .
From 1973 he was a professor at the Stuttgart University of Music . He worked as a guest conductor in Europe and the USA and made numerous radio, television and vinyl recordings. This also includes the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Orchestra , the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra and many others.
