Matthias Manasi

Matthias Manasi (born December 26, 1969 in Berlin ) is a German conductor and pianist . He is the music director of Nickel City Opera in Buffalo , New York, United States.

In 2005 Manasi was engaged for Rossini's L'occasione fa il ladro at the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad , where he played the harpsichord under the direction of Antonino Fogliani . Between 2008 and 2010 Manasi was a conductor at the Annaberg-Buchholz Theater . In April 2010 he conducted a performance of the Stabat mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi with the Orchestra Camerata Italiana in the Chiesa di San Bartolomeo in Benevento on the occasion of the composer's 300th birthday. In January 2011 Manasi directed a new production of the opera La Bohème with soloists from South America at the International Punta Classic Festival .

In November 2009 he accompanied the mezzo-soprano Laura Brioli in a recital on Wagner's Steinway in the Villa Wahnfried in Bayreuth .

As a guest conductor, Manasi conducted the Çukurova Devlet Senfoni Orkestrası in Adana (December 2010). In 2016 he conducted Beethoven's 0th Piano Concerto with the Latvian Liepāja Symphony Orchestra .
