Antonino Fogliani (born June 29, 1976 in Messina ) is an Italian conductor .

Antonino Fogliani first graduated in piano before studying conducting with Vittorio Parisi at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan . He specialized in Siena at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana with Franco Donatoni and Ennio Morricone and assisted the conductor Gianluigi Gelmetti at London's Covent Garden near Otello .

His debut at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro in 2001 with Rossini's Il viaggio a Reims was followed by engagements in Pesaro and at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, at the Teatro dell'Opera Rome , at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples and at the Opéra Comique Paris as well as at the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo . At La Scala in Milan he conducted, among others, Ugo, conte di Parigi and the new production of Donizetti's Maria Stuarda . He also directed Aida at the Houston Grand Opera and the Teatro Regio di Parma , Lucia di Lammermoor at the Nationale ReisOpera and at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, L'amico Fritz in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow and La traviata at the Opéra de Montréal.

Fogliani made his debut at Rossini in Wildbad in 2004 . The CD recordings of Rossini's Ciro in Babilonia , Mosè in Egitto , Otello , L'occasione fa il ladro , Nicola Vaccais La sposa di Messina ( Naxos ) and Don Chisciotte alle nozze di Gamaccio ( Mercadante ) were made in collaboration with Jochen Schönleber .

In 2008 he first appeared at the St. Gallen Festival .

With Il barbiere di Siviglia from La Fenice in Venice and with Anna Bolena from Maggio Musicale Fiorentino , he was broadcast live in cinemas worldwide. DVDs by Maria Stuarda and Lucia di Lammermoor are available.

Since 2011, the collaboration with Rossini in Wildbad has been institutionalized by the appointment as musical director of the festival. Fogliani teaches conducting at the Giuseppe Tartini Conservatory in Trieste . He lives in Bologna .
