Christoph Adt

Christoph Adt (born April 3, 1956 in Stuttgart ) is a German conductor and orchestra teacher.

Life

Christoph Adt studied at the Stuttgart Music Academy and in Salzburg and completed his music director studies with Thomas Ungar and Ferdinand Leitner . He has received several prizes, including 1st prize at the International Conducting Competition in Lugano . After completing his training, Christoph Adt was assistant to the chief conductor at the NDR Rundfunkorchester Hannover . He also took on a teaching position for conducting at the Stuttgart University of Music ; From 1994 to 1997 he was acting director of the university orchestra , from 1990 to 1999 he was director of the Young Chamber Orchestra Stuttgart . Since 1998 Adt has been a professor at the Munich University of Music for orchestral conducting (church and school music) and oratorio classes. He was also vice president of the conservatoire from 2007 to 2017. In June 2017 he was elected President of the University of Music in Nuremberg .

Christoph Adt is touring the world to guest performances; z. B. as a regular guest conductor of the George Enescu Philharmonic and of the Romanian Radio Orchestra in Bucharest and the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in Tokyo . From 2011 to 2015 he was chief conductor and artistic director of the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic .
