Chassey-le-Camp is located on the Canal du Center , which borders the municipality to the north. Numerous types of wine are grown here in the Bourgogne wine region . Chassey-le-Camp is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Santenay in the north, Remigny in the northeast, Bouzeron in the east, Rully in the east and southeast, Aluze in the south, Chamilly in the south and southwest, Saint-Gilles in the southwest and Cheillx-lès-Maranges in the West and northwest.

There is a Neolithic camp in the municipality. A whole culture is named after this: the Chassey-Lagozza-Cortaillod culture . The camp, which was discovered in 1865, has been protected as a Monument historique since 1932 . In the east of the community there is a Roman camp
