Palleau is located about 28 kilometers northeast of Chalon-sur-Saône . Palleau is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Corgengoux in the north, Labergement-lès-Seurre in the northeast, Chivres in the east, Écuelles in the east and southeast, Bragny-sur-Saône in the south, Saint-Martin-en-Gâtinois in the south and southwest and Chevigny- en-Valière to the west.
