Verdun-sur-le-Doubs is a French commune with 1,083 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Saone-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the arrondissement Chalon-sur-Saône and until 2015 was the capital of the canton of Verdun-sur-le-Doubs of the same name , since then it has belonged to the canton of Gergy .
