Chivres is a French municipality with 299 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Côte-d'Or in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ). It belongs to the canton of Brazey-en-Plaine (until 2015 Seurre ) and the Arrondissement of Beaune .

Chivres is located about 38 kilometers south of Dijon on the Saône . The commune is bordered by Labergement-lès-Seurre to the north, Trugny to the east, Mont-lès-Seurre to the east and south - east, Charnay-lès-Chalon to the south, Écuelles to the south and southwest and Palleau to the west .
