Chivres is located about 38 kilometers south of Dijon on the Saône . The commune is bordered by Labergement-lès-Seurre to the north, Trugny to the east, Mont-lès-Seurre to the east and south - east, Charnay-lès-Chalon to the south, Écuelles to the south and southwest and Palleau to the west .
