Viticulture

The vineyards of Vosne-Romanée are considered to be precious and of stable value. They are said to have been laid out in Roman times. There has been a tradition and continuity in the production of quality wines since the 13th century.

Wine connoisseurs describe the structure of the highest quality red wines in the area as a balance of power and finesse with high complexity and long shelf life. The geological and geographical conditions of the vineyards are also related to the quality of the wine. According to this, the soil in the area around Vosnée-Romanée has a special mixture of white oolite , marl-containing Premeaux limestone and brown, loamy-calcareous layers. The slope slopes slightly towards the place, which has a special influence on the sun's rays, the growth of the vines, the ripeness of the grapes and thus also the aroma formation.
