Créancey is a French municipality with 528 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Côte-d'Or department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ); it belongs to the Arrondissement of Beaune and the canton of Arnay-le-Duc (until 2015: canton of Pouilly-en-Auxois ). The inhabitants are called Crescentiais .

Créancey is located about 30 kilometers west-southwest of Dijon on the Canal de Bourgogne and the parallel river Vandenesse . Créancey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Civry-en-Montagne in the north, Semarey in the east and north-east, Commarin in the east, Vandenesse-en-Auxois in the south and south-east, Maconge in the south and south-west, Meilly-sur-Rouvres in the south-west and Pouilly- en-Auxois to the west and north-west.

Autoroute A6 and Autoroute A38 run through the municipalities .
