Volnay is a French commune and a wine village in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in the Côte-d'Or department , about five kilometers southwest of Beaune and one kilometer southwest of Pommard . Volnay wine region

The Volnay wine-growing region has had the status of an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC for short) since September 9, 1937 .
