Viticulture
Like many communities on the Côte de Nuits , Gevrey added the name of its top vineyard to the place name in 1847. The Chambertin , derived from Champ de Bertin , was considered the favorite wine of Emperor Napoléon .
Since May 2012 the castle and its 2 hectares of vineyards have been owned by Louis Ng Chi Sing, an owner of gaming rooms in Macau. Although the total value of the 12th century castle and the vineyards was estimated at a maximum of 3 million euros, the new purchaser paid the heirs the amount of 8 million euros.
traffic
The former marshalling yard of the Dijon railway junction (Gevrey-Triage) is located in Gevrey , but it is still an important freight yard after its closure .
