Jouey is a French municipality with 185 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Côte-d'Or department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Burgundy ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Beaune and to the community association Pays Arnay Liernais, founded in 2016 . The inhabitants are called Jouyais .
geography
Jouey is about 15 kilometers north-east of Autun and 38 kilometers north-west of Beaune - more spaciously, in the hill country between the city of Dijon and the Morvan Mountains. The streams running through the 24.26 km² municipal area drain to the Arroux in the Loire catchment area . The southwest half of the municipality is occupied by the large forest Forêt Domaniale de Buan , the northeast half shows an alternation of fields, meadows and smaller wooded areas. The parish is made up of several hamlets, of which Pochey, Promenois, Le Rondeau, Treney, Blangey Haut, Blangey Bas and La Raquwttw are the largest. Jouey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Allerey in the north, Clomot in the northeast, Mimeure in the east, Arnay-le-Duc in the southeast, Magnien in the south and Marcheseuil in the west.
