Brochon Castle

Brochon is a French commune and a wine town in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region , in the Côte-d'Or department . The municipality, located south of Dijon , has 645 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and is between 262 and 546 m above sea level. It has an area of ​​746 hectares, borders Gevrey-Chambertin to the south and Fixin to the north .

Brochon wine region

Brochon does not have its own appellation , although the location is comparable to Gevrey-Chambertin. The southern locations can therefore also be called Gevrey-Chambertin , while the other locations are marketed under the appellation Côte de Nuits -Villages. The exception in the northern locations is a small parcel of the Premier Cru location Clos de la Perrière , which is largely located on the soil of the municipality of Fixin . Wines from this plot are marketed under the AOC Fixin . Pinot noir is cultivated , which is developed into classic wines.
