Merceuil is a French municipality with 812 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Côte-d'Or department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ); it belongs to the Arrondissement of Beaune and the canton of Ladoix-Serrigny (until 2015: canton of Beaune-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Marsolia .

Merceuil is about 38 kilometers south-southwest of Dijon . Merceuil is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Tailly , Bligny-lès-Beaune and Montagny-lès-Beaune in the north, Sainte-Marie-la-Blanche in the east and northeast, Saint-Loup-Géanges in the east and southeast, Demigny in the south, Corcelles- les-Arts in the west and south-west and Meursault in the west and north-west.
