Chambolle-Musigny is a French commune and a wine town in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region , in the Côte-d'Or department .
geography
The municipality has 295 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), is located at an altitude of 264 m above sea level and has an area of 757 hectares . Chambolle-Musigny is about 15 kilometers south of Dijon and borders Vougeot in the south and Morey-Saint-Denis in the north . Like many municipalities on the Côte de Nuits , the municipality of Chambolle added the name of its prime location Musigny to the municipality name in 1882.

Chambolle-Musigny wine region
The Appellation Chambolle-Musigny , ( Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée since September 11, 1936) has 24 Premier Cru - on a total area of 61 hectares and two Grand Cru sites on a total area of 24.2 hectares. Mainly red wines are produced made from the Pinot noir grape variety . The yield of red wine for the normal local appellation is limited to 40 hl / ha . Exceptions allow the yield to be increased by max. 20% higher. The average harvest is around 6637 hl / year of red wine (the area of the Grand Cru is excluded from this figure).
The minimum alcohol content is 10.5 % vol. For the red wine and 11% vol. For the white wine. In the case of artificial enrichment with dry sugar ( chaptalization ), a maximum alcohol content is set which is 13.5% by volume for red wine and 14% by volume for white wine.
