The inhabitants of the village lived from agriculture, there were also some weavers, stonemasons and other crafts. The stones extracted in the quarry were mainly used for buildings in Komotau, but were also used for the construction of churches in Brüx . In the second half of the 19th century, the first coal mines were opened, a fireclay factory was put into operation and the place was connected to the railroad. Brickworks were added at the beginning of the 20th century, but they were shut down again during the economic crisis. The Second World War passed almost without a trace, after the war most of the German population was expelled . Due to the coal mining, part of the place was demolished in the early 1960s.
