history

Bielenz is of Slavic origin. The name of the place seems to have emerged from the name of the founder. 1355 was the first documentary mention. It is reported about a courtyard, probably built by Heinrich von Bielenz, and a church. German citizens came to Bielenz in 1528. By the end of World War II, many German inhabited the place, whose main occupation was agriculture, but also to work in the coal pits in Brüx (must) and Chomutov ( Chomutov ). In the 16th century Jews also came.

Adam Stampach von Steinbach bought the castle in 1570 and sold it to Havel Hrobschitz von Hrobschitz . The village again belonged to the Stampach in 1618. In 1622 the lands were confiscated after a battle was lost. Paul Graf Michna von Waitzenau bought the land in 1626. However, since he did not live in the castle, it fell into disrepair. The Thirty Years War did the rest . Heinrich Fürst von Auersperg united Bielenz with Rothenhaus in 1766 . His son probably had the baroque palace built. It served mainly as a hunting lodge for the Lords of Rothenhaus . In 1826 a synagogue and a Jewish school were built in Bielenz . The Jews worked as merchants and craftsmen, but also as farmers.
