architecture
Exterior construction
The bell tower covered with a gable roof rises between the square choir and the nave . The bell storey of the tower is pierced on all four sides by coupled sound arcades . The choir and nave are supported by strong buttresses. A portal framed by archivolts is cut into a narrow porch between two buttresses on the west facade . The tympanum is adorned except for a small, badly damaged relief.
South portal
The portal on the south facade is framed by two narrow columns with capitals . A three-pass arch frames the tympanum, on which a Maltese cross made of open rings is depicted in the middle , a five-petalled blossom at the top and the crescent moon and the sun to the side. An arched archivolt runs above the portal and rests on consoles carved with heads . The sculptures above the portal are reminiscent of the patron saints of the church, St. Julitta and her son Quiricus, who stand on a pedestal under a canopy and hold palm fronds in their hands as a sign of their martyrdom.
inner space
The nave has three aisles , the main nave and the side aisles are covered with ribbed vaults. The ribs of the vault rest on consoles that are decorated with heads and grimaces. Reliefs and inscriptions are carved into the vault keystones .
Leaded glass window
The stained glass windows of the church were made in 1880 by the glass painter Joseph Besnard . They depict Christ on the cross and as the Good Shepherd , as well as John the Baptist , St. Clare of Assisi , the Holy Family and St. Dominic receiving the rosary from Mary . A window commemorates the martyrdom of the two church patrons Quiricus and Julitta.
