Côte de Beaune wine region

The Côte de Beaune is the southern part of the Côte d'Or , a wine-growing region of Burgundy . The northern part of the Côte de Beaune begins below the Côte de Nuits north of Beaune at Corgoloin and includes, in addition to Corgoloin, the municipalities of Ladoix-Serrigny , Aloxe-Corton , Pernand-Vergelesses , Chorey-les-Beaune and Savigny-lès-Beaune . This area mainly produces red wine from Pinot Noir . The area south of Beaune with the communities Pommard , Volnay , Monthelie , Auxey-Duresses to Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet are famous for the best white wines made from the Chardonnay grape variety . Even further south in the municipalities of Chassagne-Montrachet , Santenay , Cheilly-lès-Maranges , Dezize-lès-Maranges and Sampigny-lès-Maranges , red wines dominate again.
