Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet is a wine location classified as Grand Cru on the Côte d'Or in French Burgundy . It is located in the municipality of Chassagne-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune . Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet has its own appellation and, with a size of 1.57 hectares, is one of the smallest appellation in France. Only white wine is produced . Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet is located south of the Grand Cru location Bâtard-Montrachet , to the west and south is the Premier Cru location Blanchot Dessus and to the east the Chassagne-Montrachet Village location En Journoblot .

Climate and geology

The Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet vineyard is located on a slope 240 m above sea level . The situation is usually spared late frosts. The climate is assigned to the Burgundian transitional climate, in which continental influences predominate over maritime ones. The Chardonnay thrives excellently in south and south-east orientation.
