Saulvaux is a French commune with 115 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Commercy and the canton of Vaucouleurs (until 2015: canton of Void-Vacon ).

geography

Saulvaux is about eleven kilometers southwest of Commercy . Saulvaux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chonville-Malaumont in the north, Commercy in the north-east, Ménil-la-Horgne and Méligny-le-Grand in the east, Méligny-le-Petit in the south-east, Boviolles in the south and south-west, Chanteraine in the west and south-west as well Saint-Aubin-sur-Aire to the west and north-west.

The National Route 4 runs through the municipality .

history

In 1973 the previously independent municipalities of Saulx-en-Barrois , Vaux-la-Grande and Vaulx-la-Petite were merged to form the municipality of Saulvaux .
