Bislée is a French commune with 61 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region ( Lorraine until 2015 ); it belongs to the Arrondissement Commercy and to the community association Communauté de communes du Sammiellois .
geography
Bislée is located around 54 kilometers northwest of the city of Nancy in the center of the Meuse department. In terms of traffic, the community is far away from the motorways on the D964. The place is on the Meuse . This and the Canal de la Meuse partially form the municipal boundary.
Neighboring municipalities are Saint-Mihiel in the north and east, Han-sur-Meuse in the east, Kœur-la-Petite in the south-east and south, Kœur-la-Grande in the south-west and west, and Chauvoncourt in the north-west.
history
The name of today's parish was first mentioned in a document in 706 under the name Biscryblata . In the Middle Ages, the place belonged to the area of the Duchy of Bar and then to the Duchy of Lorraine . More precisely to the County of Kœur in the Barrois non mouvant . With this rule, Bislée fell to France in 1766. Until the French Revolution , the community was in the Grand-gouvernement de Lorraine-et-Barrois . During the First World War the community was completely destroyed by acts of war and abandoned by all residents. After the war, only part of the previous residents returned. The place belonged from 1793 to 1801 to the District Saint Mihiel. In addition, from 1793 to 1801 to the canton of Dompcevin and from 1801 to the canton of Saint-Mihiel. The parish has been assigned to the Arrondissement of Commercy since 1801.
