It belongs to the Arrondissement of Commercy , to the canton of Vaucouleurs (until 2015 Void-Vacon ) and to the municipal association Commercy-Void-Vaucouleurs .

The municipality is traversed by the Barboure . Reffroy is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Marson-sur-Barboure in the west, Méligny-le-Petit in the north, Bovée-sur-Barboure in the east and the municipalities of Demange-Baudignécourt in the south and Saint-Joire, which belong to the canton of Ligny-en-Barrois on a short stretch in the southwest.
