Kœur-la-Grande (1793 still with the spelling Koeurs la Grande ) is a French commune in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Commercy and the Communauté de communes du Sammiellois . It has 164 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

Kœur-la-Grande is located on the upper Meuse and the parallel Meuse Canal , between Verdun and Commercy , about 50 kilometers southwest of Metz at an altitude between 217 and 355 m above sea level. The municipality covers 12.32 km².

The district of Le Jard belongs to Kœur-la-Grande . Neighboring municipalities of Kœur-la-Grande are Chauvoncourt in the north, Bislée in the northeast and Kœur-la-Petite in the east, south and west.

Economy and Infrastructure

There are two forestry companies in the municipality.

Two kilometers east of Kœur-la-Grande, the D 964 road runs from Saint-Mihiel to Commercy . In Void-Vacon , 20 kilometers south, there is a connection to the motorway-like RN 4 from Nancy to Paris . Charmes station, one and a half kilometers from Essegney, is on the Blainville-Damelevières-Lure railway line .
