Raival is a commune in northeast France with 254 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Bar-le-Duc and the canton Bar-le-Duc-1 (until 2015: canton Vavincourt ).

geography

Raival is about twelve kilometers northeast of the city center of Bar-le-Duc . Raival is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Érize-la-Petite in the north and northeast, Longchamps-sur-Aire in the east and northeast, Pierrefitte-sur-Aire and Nicey-sur-Aire in the east, Belrain in the southeast, Érize-la-Brûlée in the South, Seigneulles in the south-west, Les Hauts-de-Chée in the west and south-west and Rembercourt-Sommaisne in the north-west.

Raival was formed in 1973 from the municipalities of Érize-la-Grande and Rosnes .
