The Meuse TGV railway station is a railway station in France , who in 2007 at the new line of high-speed link between Paris and eastern France / Germany, the LGV Est was opened. It is located in the municipality of Les Trois-Domaines , in the Meuse department , at km 213 of the high-speed line. The station has two platform tracks and two internal tracks for the trains passing through.
Connection
The train station is three daily TGV - train pairs operated, two of them on the road between Paris and Nancy or Metz and one between Strasbourg and Bordeaux . The journey time to Paris is around an hour, to Strasbourg one and a half hours and to Bordeaux five hours. The station was to be used by 40,000 travelers a year. With 90,000 travelers in the first year of operation, expectations have been exceeded by far. According to the SNCF, a total of 239,313 passengers used the station in 2018 .
There are bus connections from the train station to Bar-le-Duc and Verdun . Since 2010 there has also been a bus to Commercy , as the connection with the TGV was ended.
location
The station is about halfway between Verdun and Bar-le-Duc , on the so-called Voie Sacrée ( Holy Street ) - in memory of the First World War . It is located in a very sparsely populated and structurally weak region; Local politicians hope that the fast connection to Paris, Strasbourg and Germany will increase the number of tourists and that companies will settle in the vicinity of the new train station.
architecture
According to a request of the Conseil Général des Départements Meuse, the station was built from wood; this underlines the importance of forestry in this region. The station building has an area of 310 m² and a 40 m long roof. The building received the Brunel Award in 2008 .
