Rubén Bautista Escalera is a Mexican pool player .

Career

In September 2009 Rubén Bautista was in the final against the Nicaraguan Juan Mairena Pan American champion in 8-ball . In April 2010 he retired from the 8-ball world championship in the preliminary round. At the Pan American Championship in 2010 he was third in 8-ball. In 2014, Bautista finished second at the Nick Varner Classic and the Hard Times 10-Ball Open . In January 2015 he made it into the finals at the 9-ball mini-event of the Derby City Classic , in which he was defeated by Marco Teutscher from the Netherlands . At the 10-Ball World Cup 2015 , Bautista was eliminated in the round of 32 against eventual world champion Ko Pin-yi . In July 2015 he won the bronze medal in 9-ball at the Pan American Championship. In September 2015, after victories against Bader al-Awadhi and Radosław Babica , he moved into the final round of the 9-Ball World Championship for the first time , in which he was eliminated after a 3-11 defeat by Darren Appleton in the round of 64. At the 9-Ball World Cup in 2016 , he was eliminated in the preliminary round. In August 2016, he reached the final of the 10-ball competition of the Pan American Championship and lost it to Enrique Rojas .
