Jeffrey "Jeff" de Luna (born February 14, 1984 ) is a Filipino pool player .

Career

In November 2006, Jeffrey de Luna first drew international attention when he in the 9-Ball World Cup among others the mountain Nick van defeated and only in the second round against the Vietnamese Dung Luong Chi was eliminated. In the 9-ball tournament of the 2006 Asian Games , he made it to the final. There he was defeated by his compatriot Antonio Gabica with 7:11. In October 2007, de Luna won the Manny Pacquiao International 9-Ball Open . In November of the same year he reached the sixteenth finals of the 9-Ball World Cup and won the Kabayan San Miguel Beer World 9-Ball Challenge . In March 2008, de Luna was fifth in a tournament on the Asian 9-Ball Tour . At the 8-Ball World Cup, however, he was eliminated in the preliminary round. In July he finished ninth at the Qatar World Open, and in October he reached the sixteenth finals of the 10-Ball World Cup .

In 2009 de Luna was second in the final against Ricky Yang at the Philippines Open, at the China Open he was ninth and at the Qatar World Open seventeenth. At the 10-Ball World Cup , he was eliminated in the preliminary round. At the Japan Open in 2010, de Luna came third. In April 2010 he achieved his best result so far at the 8-Ball World Cup when he was defeated by Russian Ruslan Tschinachow in the quarterfinals . At the 9-Ball World Cup 2010 de Luna was eliminated in the round of 32, at the Predator International Championship and the China Open he was fifth. In January 2011, de Luna won the Star Billiards 10-Ball Event. At the 10-ball World Cup and the 9-ball World Cup , de Luna reached the round of 64 in 2010 , and came third in the Manny Pacquiao International 10-ball championship . In July 2012, de Luna finished fifth in the World Series of Pool . At the 9-ball World Cup in 2013 , de Luna reached the quarter-finals, which he lost to eventual world champion Thorsten Hohmann 7:11. In 2014 he was eliminated in the round of 64 against Jason Klatt . Together with Jeffrey Ignacio , de Luna won the doubles tournament of the Manny Pacquiao Cup in September 2014. In November he reached the round of 32 of the All Japan Open 2014 .
