Ricky Yang (born July 11, 1972 ) is an Indonesian pool player .

Career

In September 2006 Ricky Yang made it into the final at the Asian Tour tournament in Jakarta , where he was defeated 6:11 by Filipino Efren Reyes . Two months later he reached the sixteenth finals of the 9-ball world championship and lost there with 9:10 against the Canadian Tyler Edey . In 2007 Yang was third at the Asian Tour tournament in Malaysia and was eliminated from the preliminary round at the 9-Ball World Cup . At the 10-Ball World Championships in 2008 and 2009 , Yang reached the round of 32. In 2009, he also won the Philippines Open and was third at the Qatar World Open. In April 2010 he reached the sixteenth finals of the 8-ball World Cup . At the World Pool Masters 2010 he made it to the round of 16, where he lost to the German Ralf Souquet . In July 2010 he was eliminated in the preliminary round of the 9-Ball World Cup , and in October he came in 33rd place at the US Open . At the 10-Ball World Cup 2011, Yang lost 7: 9 to the eventual world champion Huidji See in the round of 32 . In 2013 he won the gold medal at the Southeast Asian Games. In February 2015, after victories against John Morra and Petri Makkonen, he reached the round of 16 of the 10-Ball World Cup and was eliminated from the Chinese Liu Haitao .

Yang has participated in the World Cup of Pool four times so far . In 2006 he retired together with Imran Ibrahim in the first round. In 2007 and 2010 he formed the Indonesian team with Muhammad Zulfikiri and reached the quarter-finals in 2010. In 2013 he was eliminated from the first round together with Irsal Nasution .

In 2012, Yang was part of the Indonesian team that reached the round of 16 at the World Team Championship .
