A class SS9 locomotive

The CR series SS9 ( Chinese  韶山 9 , Pinyin Shaoshan 9 ) is an AC electric locomotive of the Chinese State Railways with the Co'Co ' wheel arrangement. The locomotive is used to pull passenger trains. The output of the SS9 is 4800 kW.

The locomotive was developed and built by the CSR plant in Zhuzhou . Two prototypes were completed on December 26, 1998; the last vehicle was produced in 2002. The exact number of machines produced is not known.
