Celestino Fernández y Fernández (born May 30, 1890 in Santa Inés de Barraza , Hidalgo , Mexico , † December 4, 1980 in Huajuapan de León , Oaxaca ) was Bishop of Huajuapan de León .

Life

Celestino Fernández y Fernández received on 20 December 1913, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 20, 1948, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Binda and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Huajuapan de León. The Archbishop of Mexico City , Luis María Martínez y Rodríguez , gave him episcopal ordination on June 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Monterrey , Guillermo Tritschler y Córdoba , and the Bishop of Zamora , José Gabriel Anaya y Diez de Bonilla . On May 12, 1952, Pius XII appointed him. to the bishop of Huajuapan de León.

Pope Paul VI accepted on July 25, 1967 the resignation put forward by Celestino Fernández y Fernández for reasons of age and appointed him titular bishop of Maximiana in Byzacena .

Celestino Fernández y Fernández attended the fourth session of the Second Vatican Council .
