Omar al-Shaheen (born September 3, 1992 ) is a Kuwaiti pool player .

Career

In 2009 Omar al-Shaheen reached 33rd place at the US Open . In February 2011 he reached the round of 16 of the 8-ball world championship , but lost it 4: 9 against Nick van den Berg . In May he lost 8: 9 to Daryl Peach at the 10-Ball World Cup in the round of 64 . At the 9-ball World Cup , he was eliminated in the preliminary round in June. At the 8-Ball World Cup in 2012 , al-Shaheen was eliminated in the round of 64 against Francisco Díaz-Pizarro , at the 9-Ball World Cup, however, he reached the round of 16 after victories against Chang Yu-Lung and Khaled al-Mutairi , in which he was defeated by the later finalist Li Hewen with 9:11. At the 2012 World Pool Masters he lost to van den Berg in the round of 16.

In May 2013 al-Shaheen reached the semi-finals of the China Open and was eliminated there against eventual tournament winner Lee Van Corteza . At the 9-Ball World Cup in 2013 he was defeated by Marlon Manalo in the round of 64 and at the World Pool Masters in the round of 16 to American Shane van Boening . In May 2014, al-Shaheen took part in a Euro Tour tournament for the first time; at the Austria Open he reached the sixteenth finals and lost there against Mark Gray . At the 9-Ball World Cup in 2014 , he was eliminated in the preliminary round. At the Austrian Open 2015 he made it back to the round of 32 and lost to Karol Skowerski from Poland 6: 9. In September 2015 he was eliminated again in the preliminary round of the 9-Ball World Championship . At the 9-Ball World Cup in 2016 he reached the last sixteen and lost 5:11 against the eventual vice world champion Shane van Boening.

Omar al-Shaheen has so far participated in the World Cup of Pool three times and retired in the first round in 2011 and 2013 together with Khaled al-Mutairi and in 2012 with Abdullah al-Yousef as a double partner.

With the Kuwaiti team Al-Shaheen took in 2010 at the World Team Championships in part and was eliminated in the preliminary round with her.
