Li Hewen ( Chinese  李 赫 文 ; born November 3, 1981 in Liaoning ) is a Chinese pool player . He was runner-up in 9-ball world champion in 2012 and won the World Cup of Pool in 2007 and 2010 together with Fu Jianbo .

Career

After three ninth places in 2003 and 2005, he reached the final of an Asian 9 Ball Tour tournament for the only time in May 2006 and lost 6:11 against Efren Reyes . After he finished third on the Asian Tour a month later, he made it to the semi-finals of the 9-ball World Championship in November 2006 after victories against Alejandro Carvajal , Šandor Tot and Lương Chí Dũng , in which he became the eventual world champion Ronato Alcano lost 8:11.

In 2007 he received an invitation to the World Pool Masters for the first time , but was eliminated in the first round by Pat Holtz . After he was eliminated in the preliminary round at the 9-Ball World Cup in 2007 , he reached the quarter-finals at the 10-Ball World Cup in 2009 , which he lost 7: 9 to eventual finalist Lee Van Corteza . In 2011 he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Corteza. In October 2011 he reached the final of the Haining Cup, which he lost to Liu Haitao .

After he was eliminated from Oliver Ortmann in the round of 16 at the 8-Ball World Cup in 2012 , Li Hewen made it into the final at the 9-Ball World Cup in 2012 after victories against Omar al-Shaheen , Antonio Gabica and Ralf Souquet the Englishman Darren Appleton was only just defeated with 12:13. In October 2012, he finished ninth at the US Open . In May 2013, Li reached the first sixteen of the China Open . A month later he won the bronze medal at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games after a semi-final defeat against eventual gold medalist Ko Pin-yi . At the 9-Ball World Cup in 2013 , he was eliminated in the preliminary round.

In January 2014, Li Hewen finished fifth in the World Chinese 8-Ball Masters, which was held for the first time . In June 2011, he reached the second round of the China Open and the quarter-finals of the 9-ball World Cup , where he lost to the eventual finalist Albin Ouschan . At the Japan Open 2014 he reached the semifinals, in which he lost 7:11 to the eventual tournament winner Raymund Faraon .

In July 2015, he reached for a 11: 9 win over defending champion Chang Yu-Lung for the third time in a row the second round of the China Open , but he compared the Vietnamese Hoang Quan Thu lost. At the 9-Ball World Cup in 2015 , he was eliminated in the round of 64 against Denis Grabe .

Li Hewen has participated in the World Cup of Pool seven times so far . After he won this together with Fu Jianbo in 2007 with an 11:10 win in the final against the Finns Mika Immonen and Markus Juva , they were eliminated in the semi-finals in 2008 and 2009 , before the Filipinos Ronato Alcano and Dennis Orcollo in the final in 2010 10: 5 defeated.
