Name variants

The title when it was founded and then for decades was simply Sindelfinger Zeitung . Due to the increasing interdependence in the "twin cities" Böblingen and Sindelfingen (even if the cities are still separate and autonomous) and the resulting increased reporting from the "neighborhood", the Böblingen newspaper market wanted to appear under a new name; the competitor there is the district newspaper Böblinger Bote (KRZ) . Hence the long name Sindelfinger Zeitung / Böblinger Zeitung for this part of the print run.

SZ / BZ has a recognized market position in the field of trade fairs, events, magazines and online and has been publishing a weekly podcast since 2019. In 2015 it celebrated its 125th anniversary. In the anniversary year, the editorial team received first prize at the German Local Journalist Prize of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and for the fourth time the European Newspaper Award for outstanding design. In total, SZ / BZ won 21 prizes in the fields of journalism and design.
