The Billiard Club Fortuna Straubing 1975 e. V. is a billiards club from Straubing . The first pool team created in 1986 by the merger of the billiard clubs Billardfreunde Straubing and Schwarze 8 Straubing has played in the 1st Bundesliga since 2013 . In snooker he has been represented in the Bavarian League since 2010.

Billiard friends Straubing

The Billardfreunde Straubing was founded on October 24th, 1975 by twelve players who played billiards privately in two different game rooms. In the first season, the club was able to win the team championship as well as the 8-ball cup of the Upper Palatinate pool billiard association. In the 1976/77 season he defended both titles and took part in qualifying for the German championship for the first time. Here, however, one was defeated by the later German master Moers . In the following season, the BF Straubing won the Upper Palatinate championship and the Upper Palatinate Cup. In the German team championship , the club reached ninth place and in the German 8-Ball Cup, tenth place. In the summer of 1978 the club moved into its own clubhouse for the first time. It was already the fourth change of the casino. The club also won the team championship in the 1978/79 season, and came second in the cup. The following year both titles were won again. In 1980/81 they won the cup competition and came second behind Schwarze 8 Straubing in 8-Ball and 14/1 endlessly . A year later, the club won all three titles and reached fifth place at the German championship in Kerpen . In the 1982/83 season, the BF Straubing moved to a joint playhouse with Schwarze 8 Straubing for financial reasons. The billiard friends also won all three team championships of the Upper Palatinate Billiard Association and took third place in the German 8-Ball Cup. In the first season of the 14/1 Endless Bundesliga , 1983/84, the club took eighth place. In addition, the club became German 8-ball champions for the first time this year . Also in 1984/85 he took eighth place in the 14/1 endless Bundesliga. At the German 8-ball championship in 1986, the billiard friends took third place. The then 13-year-old Bernd Jahnke also won all three titles at the German youth championship .

On November 1, 1986, the pool friends Straubing and Schwarze 8 Straubing merged to form BV Fortuna Straubing . In 1988 the youth team around European youth champion Bernd Jahnke became German youth champions. From the 1988/89 season Fortuna Straubing took part with a team in the 14/1 endless Bundesliga and reached second place there. In the first season of the Bundesliga Bundesliga , 1990/91, he finished sixth. In 1991/92 they became German runner- up behind the 1st PBC Leverkusen . In January 1993, the Bundesliga team was canceled after Bernd Jahnke and Thomas Hasch left the club. In July 1993 the club moved into its current clubhouse in Sport Krüger . In the 1994/95 season, relegation from the league followed. In the following years one rose to the district league. In the 2001/02 season the team reached first place and thus rose to the regional league. After coming fourth there in 2003, Fortuna Straubing was able to move up to the 2nd Bundesliga with three consecutive promotions . There they reached first place in 2007 and thus made their fourth ascent in a row. In the first Bundesliga team came in 2008 to fourth place, and in 2009 and 2010 before in the third place season 2010/11 the relegation to the 2. Bundesliga followed. In the 2011/12 season they just missed direct promotion as second, one point behind BSF Kurpfalz . A year later they were six points ahead of the 1st PBC Sankt Augustin champions of the second division and thus rose again to the 1st Bundesliga. In the 2013/14 season , the team came third there, just one point behind the German champions BC Oberhausen . A year later they finished fourth, and in 2016 fifth. In the 2016/17 season , the Straubing team again took fourth place.

The second team of BV Fortuna Straubing became champions of the league for the first time in the 1990/91 season. After the first team was withdrawn from the 1st Bundesliga in 1993 , they took over the top division starting position of the second team, which thus relegated several leagues. In 2004, the second team was relegated to the district league A, after they had just managed to stay in the league in both seasons. This was followed by three ascents in four years. In the 2008/09 season they reached first place in the regional league, but renounced the starting place in the newly introduced regional league and from then on played in the Bavarian League. There the team was fifth in 2010 and only just managed to stay seventh in 2011, before being promoted to the regional league with first place in the 2011/12 season. After finishing second in the first regional league season, they achieved first place undefeated in the 2013/14 season and thus rose to the 2nd Bundesliga . There the team came in first place in 2015, tied with the 1st PBC Neuwerk . After the 2015/16 season , in which they finished second one point behind the 1st PBC Karben , the club withdrew their second team to the fourth-class league.

In the following season, the team reached first place in the northern relay and then prevailed 4-0 in the promotion play-off against BSC Füssen .

Fortuna Straubing's snooker team became Bavarian champions for the first time in the 1994/95 season and came second in the German championship. In 1997 the team took third place in the German championship and was German champions for one year. In the 1998/99 season , the team from the newly introduced snooker Bundesliga was canceled after two players had left the club. From 2001 to 2005 Fortuna Straubing reached first place in the district league four times and missed promotion to the Bayern league in relegation. However, this team succeeded in 2006 after another district league championship. In the 2007/08 season they came in eighth place in the Bayern League and thus rose to the state league. After the team had reached fourth place there in 2009, they rose to the top division with fifth place in the 2009/10 season. In the following season, the team only managed to stay in seventh place, followed by second place in 2012 and 2013. In the 2013/14 season they achieved first place in the Bayernliga with a nine point lead over PSC Kaufbeuren , but missed promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in relegation . In the following season, the team won all 14 season games in the Bayern League, but did not take part in the promotion round. In the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons, they finished first with one defeat each season and did not participate in the promotion games.
