Corporación Deportiva Centauros Villavicencio is a former Colombian football club from Villavicencio .
history
The club was founded on January 14, 2002 and rose immediately from the second division to the Categoría Primera A in the first season . On February 2, 2003, the club completed their first game in the top Colombian division in a 1-1 draw against Deportivo Pasto . The season opener should be very successful for the newcomer. In the end they reached 4th place in the table and thus even qualified for the Cuadrangulares, Colombia's championship playoffs. There Villavicencio failed, however, to the other teams. All the more surprising after this successful first half of the season the total crash followed in the Torneo Finalizacion. The club was tied with Atlético Bucaramanga and Cortuluá on the last place in the table, but rose again due to the poorer goal difference in the second division. In Primera B Villavicencio reached the 3rd place in the table in 2004, but then failed in the promotion games. The Panamanian Blas Pérez , who is part of the team , was the top scorer this season with 29 goals. In the second half of the 2006 season, the first half of 2007 and 2008 and in the second half of 2009 Villavicencio also failed in the respective promotion games.
The difficult financial situation of the club caused discussions from 2010 onwards about a possible renaming of the club and a move to Popayán . Initially, however, there was no permission from DIMAYOR . Due to the high debts of the association and the little support from the regional government of Meta , as well as the assured support of the government of the Departamento del Cauca , Centauros Villavicencio was dissolved in May 2011 with the approval of DIMAYOR and Universitario Popayán was re-established .

Centauros Villavicencio played his home games at the Estadio Manuel Calle Lombana in Villavicencio. The stadium has a capacity of around 15,000 seats.
