Academia Fútbol Club is a former Colombian football club from Bogotá that played in the Primera B category.
history
Academia FC was founded in 1999 as a football school under the name Escuela de fútbol Compensar-Master Card , which trained players between 18 and 25 years of age. One team initially took part as Compensar FC in Primera C and in youth tournaments. In 2005, those responsible decided to build a team in the second division and bought the starting right of the club Chía FC .
The best result in its history reached Academia FC in the season 2007. The association was narrowly defeated in the rise in the Categoría Primera A . Academia reached the final twice, but lost each time against Envigado FC . Academia FC also did not win the relegation games against Deportivo Pereira . In other seasons, the club was able to move into the final round several times, but he did not reach the final.
During the 2012 season, Academia FC sold its starting right to the club Llaneros FC from Villavicencio, which has been playing in the second Colombian division since the return series in 2012.
Stadion
Academia FC played its home games at the Estadio de Compensar in Bogotá. The stadium has a capacity of around 4,500 seats. It was the first artificial turf stadium in Colombia to play professional football.
