Girardot FC is a former Colombian football club based in Girardot , Cundinamarca . The club played in the Primera B category for fourteen years .
history
Girardot FC was founded in 1995 and took part for the first time in the 1995/96 season in the operation of the Colombian second division . Right in the first season, the club achieved its greatest success and became runner-up.
The club could not repeat this success, but played the next fourteen seasons in the Categoría Primera B. After the 2008 season , those responsible decided due to a lack of financial support in Girardot to move the club to Palmira and rename it in Deportes Palmira . A move to Yopal had also been discussed beforehand.
