Juan Manuel Peña Montaño (born January 17, 1973 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra ) is a former Bolivian football player who played on the position of defender .

Peña moved to Independiente Santa Fe in the 1993 season . After three seasons in Colombia, he moved to Real Valladolid in the Primera División for the 1995/96 season . Here he played nine seasons in the sequence before Valladolid occupied a relegation zone at the end of the 2003/04 season. Then Peña moved to Villarreal CF , where he was part of the regular formation for a long time. After his contract had expired, the Bolivian moved to the Spanish second division club Celta Vigo in the summer of 2007 without a transfer .

After playing for Vigo for two years, he announced his retirement in mid-November 2009 with the wish not to continue his career as a footballer. He did so after careful consideration.

On March 25, 2010, he signed a contract with DC United.

He has been active for the Bolivian national soccer team since 1991. He was last used at the 2007 Copa America . His only national team goal was scored by Peña in 1993 against Paraguay .
